i don't have this model, but the ones i have got from the store have really bad write speeds(3.1). They are fast to read though.
Bought these awhile back to use as boot/install drives. For that, they work just fine. Capacity checks out. Read speeds are excellent >100MB/s, write speeds are ~10-15MB/s sequential. Would not recommend these if you were writing a lot of data to them or to use as a primary drive. Good for lending out and never getting them back.
The individual price is normally $4.99 [microcenter.com] so this does reflect a discount on the in-store price... until you consider that Micro Center has consistently sold a comparable Kingston model at $3.99 [microcenter.com] and has a two-pack instore at $7.49 [microcenter.com].

I do have this exact drive as a handy option for Windows installations.

Good luck!
Jon

Anyone use these? Are they even remotely reliable?

Thanks! Hmm…i'd be looking for mostly read-only. Maybe this is the way.

These are flash drives, so the use case is not typically reliability or fast speeds. Portability is where they excel. For what they are, these are great. Slow write (like all flash drives, but these are on the lower end of the sliding scale), average read speeds.

If you need reliability, get an SSD or HDD. If you need fast speeds, grab a portable SSD.

Thanks for the insights. I'm looking for some memory to expand some Android TV memory on a few separate house TVs and GTV dongles.

Over the years, I have purchased dozens of these. Only had 2 fail on me, one of those after thousands of automatic/continuous writes.

They have slow write speeds, but for the price, they are solid. I would pick these over SanDisk every time.

I have the 128 GB ones that I got for free in-store some time back. I use them regularly for my day to day stuff to keep my private data. Yes, they are not super fast for writes but are good for the reads. I don't store any movie files on them ... just documents. Can't complain for that. Always stop the drive and safely eject. Be careful when you're walking around with your laptop with the drive plugged in. You might snap the drive as well as damage your USB port with these extending out.

These usb flash drives are on the endangered species list with the price drops of portable ssds and nvmes. Great for the consumer though. Use these for small files or OS and pc maintenance tasks.

Always keep a stash of these. Like someone said not the best speeds on it but great for portable and those little times when someone needs something and you don't want it on your personal one you put your normal stuff on or have to give them. Actually use these microcenter ones of my 3 backup media though I have upgraded a few to 128gb the 64gb was what I use still mostly.

These drives are the only ones that annoyed me to the point I threw them away. They write for a few seconds then stop for 5 seconds and then continue. They can't sustain a constant transfer
