I got one of these chairs for $40 in-store about a month ago so this deal would be slightly better

If someone at max weight sits on these regularly how long do they hold up?
I'm only 275 for reference, and weight limit states 300.
But I had a buddy of mine who was 295 and broke the chair sitting on it only one hour. Maybe a manufacturing issue?
