They charge $600 to come out and fix it though. The part is under warranty and not the refrigerator. Currently have this issue with an lg. after they fix it, they only guarantee the new compressor for 90days.

If you ever owned a jeep you'd know. Spending more of its life at the shop than your own garage.

Costco includes the following with purchase
Delivery & Installation
Haul Away
Basic installation Parts included
2 Year warranty

I just had a fridge delivered today from costco and can confirm they took away old fridge, included basic water line and filter. Did not have them hook up water line as the location of the new fridge has no water hookup

LG compressors have a 10 year warranty on them now
MadYes now they do after everyone's failed in the past few years. But the aggravation is not worth it, when there are more reliable brands out there.
And what does the warranty get you just more frustration every 4 years when the fridge compressor fails and you have to wait months for repair. What does LG give you while you wait for months for repair?

The 90 day warranty is because the new LG compressor is the same part as the old one and they know it will fail in several years.

Same here! Mine failed within 4 years. They replaced it for free. Year 6, the damn thing failed again!!! My Samsung is 8 years old and still running. I avoid lg fridge as much as possible!!

Let me get this straight, Costco can't sell this model so they have to bundle a TV as an attempt to push sales? So we're already getting a bad deal on a risky compressor then insult upon injury, throw in a low quality 4k TV. This is madness.

Basically he's saying LG is known for their compressors failing, I won't touch an LG fridge. And hisense is the jeep of the TV industry
LG has fixed their compressor's failing valve design in 2020. I hope the new system works.

For those getting this LG Fridge look at the Consumer Ratings before buying or get an extended warranty as they are not reliable. I bought one 5 years ago. Today the compressor failed. The repair guy said he can fix it for $800 not under warranty anymore and also told me about the LG compressor recall/class action suit. So now LG is covering the compressor but installing will still cost me for $300. That's after 2 month order process and waiting for LG to send a new compressor, since they are on backorder due to many failing.
Buyer Beware.
All I can say is that I had my LG fridge for 12 years, the compressor did fail at year 9 and was replaced under warranty. It's been good since.

This is a GREAT price!! You will eventually waste all the food inside while warranty takes place, so starting a lower price is best. Many will have a frustration multiple times. Good luck!

Yes I called yesterday I had a 2017 model which has the bad compressor. I called lg they said the refrigerator is not under warranty even though the part has a 10 yr warranty. For lg to come out it will cost $550 plus tax and they cover any fixes. Any new part is only guaranteed for 90 days so if something goes wrong again which seems like a big possibility even according to pseg. Then you'll be paying again
You don't understand that there are multiple warranties covering different parts of the refrigerator? Look through your papers and see how long the comprehensive warranty was.

There is none, home appliances are all a luck of the draw, but then what isn't? However, Samsung and LG catch more dirt than they deserve probably because they are not American nor German. People are biased, it's nothing new. You ever hear about people complaining about Whirlpool on here? And yet, Whirlpool models have terrible reviews and ratings. Same for the super bare and expensive german products that still fail, lol.

This. Refrigerators made today aren't what they used to be and that includes ALL brands. Cheaper parts, cheaper labor, isn't that how it is in every industry?

In one of thje more serious discussion talking about "reliable appliances," multiple people, including those that repair home appliances for a living, said all home appliances are a crapshoot nowadays, and that people should pick brands depending on parts and repair availability in their area. Oh, and get some extended warranty as well if you aren't planning on short-term use only.
