I have both sam's and Costco as well and couldn't disagree more with this. Grocery prices sam's is cheaper and it's not close. Unless you only eat organic, sam's everyday. Don't feel like paying $6/lb for chicken breast.

I just got a sam's club membership with the recent $10 deal. The way I see it right now is even if sam's is a bit more expensive on stuff, the lower crowds compared to Costco and the existence of scan and go at sam's club makes it more worth while just in time savings. Every time I go to Costco I'm spending 10-15 minutes waiting to check out with 1000 other people, and dodging people with their 6 kids every 5 feet. it feels like everyone and their relatives has a Costco membership.

I guess. I feel like a lot of people seem to view Costco as some exclusive, invitation only club. Personally I think Costco and Sam's club is similar enough where it doesn't really matter which you're a member of. For me, the better technology (scan and go, and online prices/availability) and fewer people is why I prefer sam's.

Thank you OP for posting this. Always nice to get a heads up. That said, didn't find a single thing that looked interesting to me. :-(

Not much here as usual. There are a few grocery items I buy from Sam's almost every month, because I can't find them anywhere else cheaper.

That being said, if you are looking for deals on grocery prices this year, good luck.

Disney gift cards are a good deal if you are heading there this summer/fall to pay for incidentals/parks/room. 7.5% off beats red card without additional discounts. I wish there was a way to load them onto a spending account for dining/gift shops. You can load them into one gift card up to $1000 then store that on your phone instead of carrying it where it can get lost/stolen.

Strange tide of very pro-Sams posters here at SD that always trash talk Costco when there's a deal and pump up Sams. I can never understand it. I've got memberships to all three clubs, and Sams can't hold a candle to the pricing that Costco has on most items. Even BJs has better pricing and sales most of the time. The only reason I've got the Sams account is because of a handful of products that we can only find there (in bulk). Sales like this are no exception, I've never seen anything that really makes you go 'wow, that's cheap'. At best, minor discounts on already not too steeply discounted items.
I have sams and costco and completely agree. I love the mini tacos at Sams since they discontinued them at Costco.

My Costco is in a high cost of living location and I still pay about half of that for chicken breast. Looking at my last purchase from this past week, I paid $3.29 a pound for a roughly 6.5 lb pack.

And a double check of the nearest Sam's - $3.48 a pound for the same. More expensive at Sams, and not cryovac'd either so it'll spoil faster.

I find some items slightly cheaper at SAMS during sale when compared to costco. I am a frequent visitor to both now. Does SAMS have for ever return policy like costco?
