Nope. It is brand new. I got this deal last month and sent an email to vitamix customer service. Here is the reply I received from them:

Vitamix products purchased in person on the shelf at retail locations typically include a picture box with images and text, Vitamix products that are shipped directly to you usually arrive in a plain brown Vitamix shipping boxes. In some cases, should a retail partner such as Best Buy run out of picture boxed products, they may substitute them for plain boxed products in those cases.

Additionally, since your product has already been registered for its 10 year warranty, no further action is required on your part to receive service or support for your product.

Check out the Q&A section. It specifies that the blender is new (not reconditioned) and that it comes in a brown box shipped directly from Vitamix (thus not a retail box). It also comes with a 10-year warranty. Hope this helps. Smilie

How do people feel about those IoT Vitamix blenders? Vitamix has a great reputation, but I can't say I'm into IoT kitchen appliances/personal care type of products. Another option is the E520 at Costco....hmmmm.

According to a reviewer, this is not a brand new blender. It is a refurbished product that ships in a brown box. The product description also mentions that it ships in a brown box. If this is indeed a refurbished blender, it is quite deceitful of them to not mention "refurbished" anywhere on the listing. Will have to pass.

Yes, that is something they should mention.

However, in my experience all refurbished by vitamix blenders come with 5 year warranty and new containers. So if someone is interested in getting a vitamix, don't let the "refurbished" turn you away. This is an excellent deal, I got a refurbished V1200 a few months ago and it has been excellent.

That makes this deal a no-brainer then.
V1200 is solid. Has all the functionality as other models via app.

The Best Buy "Features" section specifically states, "Note that this blender comes in a brown box, not a full color box as you would find sold in a store." and the "Specifications" section states 10 year warranty, so this is a new item.

Background: I own a BlendTec. I use mine mainly for salad smoothies (I blend mixed greens/spinach and frozen fruit). And the occasional opine, "the blender can make soup/peanut butter/ice cream/etc." to make my spend more justified.

For those who are interested, I just watched a Project Farm video on YouTube comparing blenders. Vitamix was tops, but it was also $600 compared to the $100 version that did a very good job. If I had to do again, I might have considered the $100 1500 watt Nutribullet .

I have the ascent series. It works well, and you can use it easily without the programs, but I still wish I had the physical switch and analog dial. Maybe that's just me feeling nostalgic.
