This title also has a demo available and can be played in full this week for NSO members. I would recommend one of those options. Tried the full title and do not understand the mechanics at all, dying repeatedly. I don't feel like the game is doing enough to explain how to attack enemies for example. Shame since the soundtrack so far has been great.
How is the couch coop for this, especially for 5 and 9 year old? Thanks.
I can't speak to the co-op specifically, but I would this game is generally pretty hard for a 5 year old, unless they understand rhythm, there may be an easy mode however. Unless the kids are bigtime Zelda fans, I'd look elsewhere for them.

Borrowed this from our library. Even with rhythm disabled, my 8-year old kept killing us both because he couldn't stay on beat and would just dash across the board to an enemy. He just couldn't grasp that each time he moved one square, the enemies would all move one of their own beats. Since he and I were never in sync, it was a hot mess. I enjoyed it solo very much though.
It's a fun game. Wish it was a little cheaper but it reminded me of playing link to the past or links awakening with a map that could change. The strange thing is I never died so it never changed and I beat it quickly. Maybe because I'm a drummer IDK but it present a lot of challenges and all we're telegraphed the right way.
I'm a fan and want to buy the original but just haven't.
I have Crypt of the Necrodancer... don't see a reason to also own this one. It was a mildly fun distraction, but it turns out melding a rogue lite with a rhythm game didn't turn into a "must play."

From what I can tell, it is the games' 3 DLC packs in a bundle form. Adds new music, characters, and game modes

Man, what a difficult game, and I can follow a beat.
