AVOCADOS is the 5th ingredient in quac...

Ingredients: WATER, TOMATILLOS, SOYBEAN OIL, GREEN CHILE PEPPERS, AVOCADOS, ONIONS, CILANTRO, CONTAINS 2% OR LESS OF DEHYDRATED ONION, IODIZED SALT (CONTAINS POTASSIUM IODATE), LIME JUICE CONCENTRATE, MALTODEXTRIN, NATURAL AND ARTIFICIAL FLAVORS, SUGAR, CANOLA OIL, CALCIUM SILICATE, BAKERS YEAST EXTRACT, MODIFIED CORN STARCH, XANTHAN GUM, DEHYDRATED CILANTRO, GARLIC POWDER, ASCORBIC ACID (TO HELP PROTECT FLAVOR), CITRIC ACID (TO ACIDIFY), YELLOW 5, BLUE 1, YELLOW 6..

so really a mix of oil and water and tomatillos, and tomatillos and chile peppers.

also manufacturer replied to a Q on one of them saying it has 2 tablespoons of salt in it! Though I guess it is 32 ounces....

.... but what I'm more concerned with is someone said they bought this in December 2022 and it's best til or had expiration date just a couple months after.

Don't eat this... it's literally soybean oil and dyes.

This stuff barely tastes like guacamole. There's hardly any avocado in it. It's really a tomatillo-based salsa, and not a very good one at that.

Their salsa cremosas aren't too bad, though, even though they're not actually cream-based.

We use this all the time, it's great for dumping in a crockpot (about 12 oz) with chicken breasts. Then you pull the chicken apart after it's done and you have salsa chicken.. and then we make quesadillas for days.

I'm seeing all these comments and am bummed. I should have read the ingredients lol. I thought we were being healthy. I didn't know I was feeding my family motor oil. damnit.

Gram for gram, this has more sodium than your typical bag of potato chips. Oil and salt with some other ingredients thrown in is what this is. Maybe okay to have this on a few rare occasions, but if you're buying 32oz of this that expires soon good luck with that.

I think you're being too hard on yourself. The amount of soybean oil in this is much less than say something like a salad dressing containing soybean oil. Life in moderation, and have an awareness of whats going in your body. Dont stress too much about it - Thats the real health risk.

Why are so many people gatekeeping a salsa on slickdeals? Weirdos.

A 16oz jar frequently goes on sale for ~$3.00 so don't jump on this large container if you aren't sure you will like it. It is a thin tomatillo sauce with avacado in it. It is not a guacamole so do not buy if you expect a chunky guac.

Their herdez regular salsa Is very watery , not much heat either. Also it spoils fairly fast if you don't intend to eat or use such a large container within a short time period. I bought a 70 oz container of the medium salsa from smart n final for around $10 and ended up not even eating half of it, although that's my fault too lol

Hey everyone?

Guacamole SALSA <> Guacamole. They aren't the same, and it's not really something that you'd eat with chips as it's too thin.

This is a very common sauce used in real Mexican restaurants. You'll find it on chicken and beef.

And it was recently cited as the #1 commercial sauce used in restaurants.

Love how people complain about dyes in food and are eating junk food and sugar all the time, double standard
FYI those usually aren't the same people. Ones that look at labels for bad stuff tend not to eat the crap. The crap eaters (like myself) never look at the label or calorie counts =)

I used to eat this salsa all the time, I enjoyed it a lot. I just got burned out on it, and haven't bought it in a long time, years. What I recall is piquant cilantro, tomatillo, and creamy avocado flavor. It's good tasting as far as I'm concerned. I prefer their medium salsa verde though. I make and can my own red salsas, I've never done green...yet.
