I got the 50" of this for $139 and it's fine as a basic bedroom set but has mega annoying transformer whine when the TV is off.

I have the 65" version and it crashes/reboot all the time and OTA TV sound is way too quiet. I recently bought an Insignia Fire TV, rock solid stable. Yes, I can install all the apps via adb or use the Downloader app. The only downside: have to log into an Amazon account for adb and side loading etc. to be available. Not a problem at all because I can create a new Amazon account just for this.

In theory: Android TV is better, but a poorly built one like Philips is no compare to Fire TV (also based on Android).

My local Walmart had clearances on many different display models, Samsung, TCL, Philips, LG, Hisense. It was over 10 different models. Prices started at $80 for 32" models.

Do all small TV (<45") have built in Bluetooth, so you can listen on Bluetooth headphones? I like that feature. Wonder if TCL and Hisense also have that option.

In my experience, TCL Roku TVs do not have Bluetooth and that is my biggest gripe. I am pretty sure no Roku TV has Bluetooth no matter who made it. There are workarounds with using the Roku app on your phone or buying a soundbar or remote with audio jack. I did look up the specs on this Android TV and it does have BT.

My house is Google based so I thought it would be a good idea to buy a 55 inch Hisense that Android TV. The unit is 2 years old and Google TV is the absolute worst OS for TVs. I't so laggy and constantly crashes. I ended up buying a Roku and it saved that TV.
Yep. Most of these TVs are built to last hardware-wise. Now that every tv is a smart one, though, the smart functions become a second thought. They cram in the functionality, stop supporting it quickly after, and it is always buggy, slow garbage.

Chromecast, Rokus, and Apple TVs are literally putting these things on life support lol.

Size doesn't matter. Android and Fire TV all have Bluetooth. You can also plug a USB dongle, favourably a low latency one. Just never bother with ruko, no matter how cheap, unless a non smart TV is all you want.
