Do you like music cast better than the denon alternative? Do any of them work well simultaneously with an airplay speaker like a homepod?

I have been using this for more than a year.Great one .as someone mentioned max transfer speed is 24gbps. The intially released one needs a hdmi chip hardware corrections which Yamaha does for free . The later released one does not need that and it will have a star at beginning of firmware version while displayed on AVR to identify that.

The cyclops receiver is missing analog video inputs. Those are nice to have for older gaming systems. This has been out since 2020, with some bumps in the road. Yamaha seems to have taken care of their customers. Very good mid level AVR.

Better? HEOS and MusicCast are really comparable. I already have a lot of Yamaha gear and they have incredible flexibility with sources and integration with Home Assistant.

I got the tsr-700 refurbed off eBay which is this exact receiver but only sold at Costco. It was a total nightmare nothing but constant handshake issues could never get the HDMI to switch reliably it was such a headache. Any time we wanted to watch a movie or show it was a 20 minute ordeal of plugging and unplugging HDMI cables and power cycling my TV reciever Roku ultra etc. I bought 3 different sets of 8k certified HDMI cables without success. I wanted it to work so badly but it never would. I eventually bought the Denon from Costco which has been much more reliable. The app control on this and sound were better when it works but it never works lol.

Not in the market (have a 9.2 receiver), but even with inflation, it is a crazy marketplace that this open box for this price is a good deal when the Costco Yamaha, New condition, has been as low as $330 as someone also pointed out, or even lower, several years ago. Also technology has advanced a bit since then, so you would think these older models should cost less now.
But I haven't been following prices much.

It supports 7.1 and powered Zone 2 which is how I run it. Or you can run 9.1.
