I clicked the NewEgg link after seeing this SlickDeals post, and I see the NewEgg website currently shows the price as $309.99 and also it shows:
"LOWEST PRICE in 30 days"
I was confused how NewEgg could claim that since less than 30 days ago the price was allegedly $289.99, which is lower than $309.99.
I made sure by checking archives, and indeed the price was lower than $309.99:

RAID 10 means: $8.5 * 2 = $17/TB, though cost a little more, so far so good.

Fault detection, rebuild time, and rebuild performance are all factors here.
( side note, of course R10. This doesn't change the terrible capabilities of the three factors mention above in SOHO / prosumer NAS products ).
