Has Sucralose. Hoping for better options
I'm sure you are referring to data from one study where they fed rats with grams of sucralose and noticed a decrease in gut microbiom. Nobody has done those studies in humans and we consume sucralose in micrograms and not grams. Don't worry. Sucralose is safe. If you know any human studies please enlighten me. Thanks in advance !

If you isolate the sucralose, then you could do a substitution reaction to convert the bonded chlorines back to hydroxyl groups to form sucrose. Then with sucrose you could feed yeast to get fermentation going.

Or you could mix it with alcohol. That might also work. Wink

WaterTok has made these syrups and powders very popular. Maybe they're getting popular enough that they aren't going to sell to discount stores, hoping they can sell to retail at a higher markup

What are the better options. Every one I read about has some unhealthy aspects?

Anyone have experience using a vanilla flavoring like this with carbonated water? I'm looking to make an orange vanilla flavor. Vanilla extract tasted weird in the carbonated water.

Yeah TikTok has killed these at the local discount stores. They used to have shelves of them but now you see nothing but women scouring the isle for them.

I also grab these at Marshall's or TJ max from anywhere from 2.99 to 3.99. Bigger bottles are cheaper per ounce when you can find the flavors you like. I used to use Torani sugar free and prefer these. Vanilla almond, vanilla, and hazelnut are the best I've tried so far.
I buy them there too. I regret buying at higher prices from Amazon after discovering them there.
I find these taste a lot better than Toani to me. But as with all fake sugars, if you use too much, they are horrible.
Salted Caramel is my favorite, and lately Rocky Road on the $2.99 price at Home Goods
