the only benefit here is the 12" rip capacity. The miter saw is better is better in every other way. You can just flip your piece around for the second half of the cut.

I used this jig before I got my miter saw. Works ok but the miter saw does a much better job.

I wish you were in every thread to tell me I already have a tool that does the job and don't need this other item. Haha!

Would I still need this If I have a dual bevel miter saw?

It seems like this is basically a crosscut sled for people who don't have a table saw. Am I missing something? It's a novel idea if you only have a circ saw but this doesn't really do anything a crosscut sled doesn't, right?

Kreg specializes in tools and jigs, so yes, it's a jig to aid in cross cuts. Best for the weekend woodworker with just a circ saw.

Using a table saw + crosscut jig would be much, much better for 90˚ cuts. Miter saw for fast+repeatable angle/beveled cuts. This jig allows you to cut miters, which you'd have to make a different sled for that on the table saw.

This is a good option for those that don't have the space for miter saw. I don't have a big work space and this unit hangs on the wall with my hammers and other tools. I don't need this very often and if I really need a miter my dad has one. IF you have the space for a miter saw go with that. If not this works great.

I preferred using this jig when i didn't have a miter saw. As I said, it's functional. But now that I have a miter saw, this jig is far less useful for me. If you only have a circular saw, then by all means, get this. I was able to build rudimentary stuff with this.

Same! I feel like every single thread on Slickdeals needs a Good Samaritan to pop outta left field and explain why I don't need whatever useless thing it is that I buy just bc it's on sale lol
