DIY it checks all the boxes at $200, the biggest knock is the track is only 55" and the extension pack has been sold out for quite some time. I'd recommend upgrading the blade to a diablo.

What's wrong with it?
Hmm, the dust pickup isn't the best but the main flaw is the writhing knife. It has one but is designed poorly, cannot do plunge cuts. Stupidly, the writhing knife goes down ahead of the blade, so no plunge cuts. You'll have to bring down the blade, then slide forward to cut. The milwaukee track saw is designed better. Writhing knife comes down separately from the blade and more behind instead of below the blade. I was thinking about getting this deal also, but after seeing a couple of videos on ryobi track saw, I"ll hold out for the updated model.
i've been seeing that too but i don't know if i want to go with ryobi on some of the more specialized tool. purchase some ryobi nail guns years ago and thought it was a good deal with some basic door or baseboard job. but did a entire patio where it needed to nail over 2000 16gauge nails and i see the flaw in the inconsistency of the nails not going into the right depth. got the Milwaukee 2nd gen nail gun and it was night and day difference. so now i'm a bit skeptical with some of the more specialize tool and who makes it.
If you can't find this in stock, remember Wen[amazon.com] makes one. It's around $200, comes with two 20v batteries. Track is extra but you can get the 110" track for around $64 extra[homedepot.com].
I have the corded version and am very happy with it.
Just got one in Colma, Ca. Employee said he thought they were sold out, but I spotted two in the bottom of a stack of drill/driver kits in the top stock the next aisle over. Their system said they had 4, I spotted just the two, but bought 1. I know they brought both down from top stock, though.
Before I asked them to get them down, though, i asked customer service to check the in-store price, and it was indeed $200.
What would be the main use for this vs. a circular saw with a separate saw guide?
This will be more accurate. It's main use is for cutting down sheet goods, or ripping long stock. It's safer and more accurate since the track is clamped to the work and the saw rides in the track, you only have to push the saw on the track.

I own this ryobi tracksaw. You are right about the plunge, hower its a quick disconnect riving knife so just pop it off when you need to plunge.
Truthfully riving knife is very important on table saw but not nearly as big of an issue on tracksaw or circular saw. For $200 there is nothinh close to this deal.
Several other brands come with short tracks. I bought an additional track for 79 from home depot. All in 279 aint bad

TTI has some serious issues trying to make Track Saws. Maybe they can have better execution with a Dirt Devil track saw?
