Bought it from CostCo last week for this price to upgrade from my original Instinct. Love it so far. New features include support for power meters, indoor trainers, HRV status, training load etc. Can't get Morning Report working though, if you care about that, stick with Fenix or ForeRunner series.

I love this watch and this is a great price!

If you don't need maps it's a great buy. The screen is easier to read in lower light conditions than the Fenix series without having to rely on the backlight. It's lighter and more comfortable than the Fenix series too. In my opinion, Solar isn't worth the extra expense for most people not wanting Garmin Pay. If you are using functionality like GPS etc, it's not a like a G-shock where you don't need to charge with Solar. Instead it just adds a little extra power to increases time before next charge just a little. And it can already go for weeks without the Solar.

My biggest complaint is the inverted backlight. It make it harder to read the watch at night from standard viewing angles. You have to try to look at it from straight on or even from the top to get a better viewing angle.

Recently released 2X is rich in terms of features, I like the fact 2X has latest multi-band GPS, training readiness and morning reports, but forerunner 265 presents competition to this with its AMOLED screen

All smartwatches can show texts from iPhone, but only Apple Watch has the ability to send/respond.

Garmin is notorious for segregating markets. It's text msg display is limited to certain languages. If that matters.

Can do simple canned responses. For me, that's typically 75% effective when active and really don't want to dig out or go find my phone.
