(1) Go into your account and turn on electronic statements
(2) Call them up and ask what the charge is for
(3) When they ask when you turned on electronic statements, tell them you don't know. They'll say something like 'oh, it sometimes gets processed before it goes on the account, it must have happened before you turned on electronic statements, let me waive that fee for you.'
Or at least that's how it worked for me
I also verified on 2 accounts that there is no restrictions to keep account open after receiving bonus

However, since the debit for $6 took me under the $15k threshold for a few days, I just hope that it doesn't make me ineligible to receive the $750 bonus.

If anyone wants to do the math, it's 60% Apy.

Add to it the pain of opening the account - they didn't send the account number so I couldn't create an account until a debit card showed up (found if I called a local branch they'll just give me the account #).

Same situation here. Every time I'd initiate a transfer they'd instantly block my account. Calling now to close it permanently.
I requested my account closure online but I think I'm going to have to call...

I opted to not get a debit card (because I was just going to close it) and had to call to get my account number. I didn't have as much trouble and got through within a few minutes.
Did you close you account yet? I'm hoping it's not going to be a painful process.
