Beware this bank uses every possible avenue to deny your bonus. They claimed ach transfers from my other non US bank accounts to this account weren't "new" funds or money

edit: mods, why did you remove my edit comment telling others that were telling me I did it wrong to go kick rocks!?!

Ha, I just called about this. It's the 'paper statement charge'.

(1) Go into your account and turn on electronic statements
(2) Call them up and ask what the charge is for
(3) When they ask when you turned on electronic statements, tell them you don't know. They'll say something like 'oh, it sometimes gets processed before it goes on the account, it must have happened before you turned on electronic statements, let me waive that fee for you.'

Or at least that's how it worked for me
Yea thanks for info, made the call and they are reversing the charge. Only concern i might have is i didnt get the bonus just yet and hopefully this doesn't f it up, lol ...

I also verified on 2 accounts that there is no restrictions to keep account open after receiving bonus

I also was charged a $6 service fee and when I called, they said it was for paper statements and rep had me go through the same process to get that waived going forward. The $6 was then refunded the day after I called.

However, since the debit for $6 took me under the $15k threshold for a few days, I just hope that it doesn't make me ineligible to receive the $750 bonus.

I opened my account on 8/4 and received my debit card today, 8/18. I wasn't able to gain access to the account sooner. Now I only have 17 days to deposit money into the account. I tried linking the US Bank account via my external account and the US Bank login craps out. Now I have to wait for the manual process to validate the two small deposits before I can transfer money. At this rate, I'll have to spend money on a wire to meet the 30 day deposit deadline.

All these negative comments. The actual holding period is 30 days if you can get the initial funding on the 30th day. Then you hold from 30 to 60 days

You must make new deposit(s) of at least $15,000 in new money deposits (Direct Deposits, ATM/Branch Deposits, Mobile Check Deposit, ACH or Wires) within 30 days of account opening and thereafter maintain a balance of at least $15,000 until the 60th day after account opening.

If anyone wants to do the math, it's 60% Apy.

(0.60*15000)*(30/365)
If you're looking to take advantage of the 15k to get $750 you need to start immediately as there's a $5k/wk cap on incoming deposits (odd to me). Perhaps there's another way to deposit into the account but no local branches near me. Ended up giving up ..I went through hoops trying to get the account number so I could setup an online account - (1) the new account paperwork was never sent, (2) no debit card was requested - so couldn't use pin, (3) spent 30min online with the support who couldn't share account #. I ultimately called a random local branch who gave it immediately. Good luck to others.

Add to it the pain of opening the account - they didn't send the account number so I couldn't create an account until a debit card showed up (found if I called a local branch they'll just give me the account #).

Trying to find the verbiage on the US bank website that indicates there is a $5k/week cap but didn't find any. Where did you find that out?

Does anyone have any advice? I opened an account last week and my initial deposit of $3,000 was processed over the weekend. I went in to the branch yesterday to deposit an additional $12,000 and was told that my account was frozen and in the process of being closed. I am unable to recover the $3,000 and the branch manager did not return my call today. I am honestly at a loss and have no idea how to get my money back...

So I have an easy checking account and a credit card with them when they had some promotion of $500 for spending x amount. Is it necessary to go to the branch to close? I might open a business checking account and credit card in the future but not now. Should I close my account or could that make it harder to open a business checking in the future when I don't have an actual business?

I closed my account today (had a $100 deposit in it). They'll send a check by mail. Couldn't get it funded after numerous tries. Enough is enough.

Can I pull some money and take it below $5000 after the 60 days but before I get the bonus added to my account a few weeks later?

Same situation here. Every time I'd initiate a transfer they'd instantly block my account. Calling now to close it permanently.

YMMV - I did this earlier this year and was paid the $500 in about 20 days, not 60. Good luck to all.

I did this and got the $750 after 45 or 60 days and immediately withdrew my money. Beware they charged me two monthly fees and I had trouble moving money into and out of the account. Capital One kept denying it (told me I couldn't over the phone)and I had to wire the initial amount and use Ally to pull my money out.

I requested my account closure online but I think I'm going to have to call...

I ended up wiring my initial deposit and a combination of push/pull to get it all out. For some reason I kept having trouble pulling from capital one bank and it ended flagging my account and locking it (capital one, not US bank.)

I opted to not get a debit card (because I was just going to close it) and had to call to get my account number. I didn't have as much trouble and got through within a few minutes.

Did you close you account yet? I'm hoping it's not going to be a painful process.
