That's the "was" price, not the list/original price.

As a comparison, Walmart's [walmart.com] price is $12.55. This deal price is ~$6 lower.

These are cool, but the big missed opportunity to me every time is not having multiple interchangeable parts. That would make it a better language and creative toy, not to mention just more fun and longer engagement/replay.

Like having multiple body parts to make multiple different dinosaurs (or a really strange-looking dinosaur)? That could be pretty cool. Probably not a < $10 toy then.
