I keep hearing that this thing sucks as a fridge. Even the instructions say to not leave food and beverages in it for extended periods of time? What the heck is the purpose of it then?!

This cannot, in good conscience, be called a "fridge". Electric cooler would be more appropriate. Please do not put perishable items in this, unless you enjoy the taste of E. coli and Salmonella.

My little nephew desperately wanted this for Christmas, so I reluctantly bought it. It's small, cheaply made, and doesn't perform as a "fridge". That being said… if you or your kid wants a decent-looking decorative piece that compliments your Xbox and can store (and occasionally keep cool) a couple of non-milk-based drinks, then at $35 you might want to jump in. Just keep your "fridge" expectations in check.

I'm sure they do. Number of years ago I had a mini fridge this size from Spencer's Gifts on my desk at work and after the first week it just ended up unplugged and I used it to store random crap in. 🤣

They suck because it's thermoelectric cooling. Not traditional refrigeration with a full refrigeration system (compressor, condenser, evap, refrigerant)

I have this and eventually ice starts building up on it and can cause the fan to mess up, the fan on it is very loud as well.
