These Celerons have been superceded by the Intel N95 and N100 which are about 25% faster and don't cost much more. Look up the Beelink S12 as one example. Also, it's better to buy from Amazon because of their easy returns.

This machine is about equivalent of a 12 year old machine. The cpu rating is 4000, I would pick up a used machine with a rating of 15000.

You actually can for example this video on youtube for AWS CCP Exam

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SOTamWNgDKc

This is the best example I can find as this training I watched at 1.75 speed but if I was reviewing these topics again, I'd definitely do 2X after listening to it for 5:30 at 2X.

I'll generally go 1.5 - 1.75 speed on things like these training videos for certificate exams to get a quick detailed overview while I'm working.
now it makes sense. only to review something again.

i am sure any pc can do. if just need to study something again. you can always lower the resolution if the pc is having trouble with the clip.

Really like the look of the Beelink S12 Pro, but would like to pay less and not have a Windows license (going to run Linux). Can the included Win11 be resold?
Ended up answering my own question and ordering one of these bare-bones Morefine M9 units:

https://www.aliexpress.com/item/3...94899.html

$144 shipped with no RAM, no SSD, and no Windows. Video review here [youtube.com].

Found 1x Crucial 32GB for $69.95 from this deal (not the 2x 16GB the post is actually for -- this CPU only allows for one RAM module) and 1TB Samsung M.2 NVMe for $54.99 from this deal (PCIe 3.0 is the limit of the Morefine anyway). Free shipping on both (no Prime) and used Discover rewards Amazon gift card to cover most of the tax.

Not an FP deal (not even a good deal, IMHO):
After spotting this post I got interested in the topic, spent 3+ hours on research (including reviews, comparing specs, etc., etc.). As the result got this one instead:
https://www.amazon.com/Beelink-La...0BVFKN7ZL/
(at the time $189 - $15 coupon).
Latest processor in the family (better than this OP): 12th Gen Intel N100 (up to 3.4GHz) + some better specs than this FP. Also with Win 11 Pro.
+ Amazon return policy

If not in a hurry, I would wait a bit when these come out with USB-C (more options for external connectivity): right now the cheapest of these with USB-C is $229 and has display issues. So I went with what I got instead, at this time

Yes, for local use only though. Transcoding for Internet access would not be good.
I picked one up a few months ago and it can transcode 2 4k steams easily

I did some research myself and came across the same Beelink N100 mini PC. Definitely a better buy than the one linked in this thread.

Conveniently left off the word "Celeron" from the processor description. I don't know about you guys, but when I see Celeron, I avoid at all cost.

Head for the hills, I do.

Yes, the N100 appears to be a better deal, for only $15 more.

Says Windows 10 pro on that page, though.

Is it possible to dual-boot the N100 box with Windows and Ubuntu?

I know very little about computers, and even less about mini-desktops. I just want something for my wife who will use this for Office 365, rendering video from goto live meetings, and Zoom calls. Not rocket science, but I also don't want something that will only be good for a year or two. I read through a lot of the comments in this post and I've been looking for something that has newer processors and such. Would this work for my needs? If she ever wanted to play something basic like Sims 4, would that overtax the system? Would the item from the OP be fine for what I need?

As a couple other people (including myself) have pointed out, the Beelink PC I've linked below is a better deal. Comes with more RAM, drive space and newer processor for $175 after coupon (compared to $160 for the one you linked).

Maybe even better?
- Less footprint
- Should run faster
- Can be upgraded to Win 11 Pro when initially activated:
- Save the backup: come back to Win 10 Pro if you do not like 11

Why not? Just needs a software OS boot selector (I am not sure what is used nowadays...). It is just a regular computer. Ubuntu dists allowed installing its own OS selector as an option.

Just research what is popular currently for that purpose

Honestly seems like a great deal for a low power consumption Plex server or HTPC.

I would certainly want to use my own Windows install on this though rather than take the chance of it using a modified version of windows that's infected with malware.
