I purchased the Skullcandy Indy Evo earbuds and they're actually nice, the one drawback for me was I can't use them independently. Only the right one will work alone, the second earbud cannot pair on its own.

I have these ear buds and love them. I think I paid $69 2 years ago. These fit in my ear much better than the ear pod style that came with iPhones. These come with different size ear pieces to customize fit. I am not super tech-y. But they do have the noise cancelling feature (I don't have experience to compare quality). There are tapping actions that activate different things like one tap for volume, long tap to pause or something like that. The app was more user friendly for me than the tapping. They charge quickly and keep a charge for a long time in my opinion. I use them nightly to listen to audiobooks. I think I'll pick up a second pair just in case.
