Nice, I just watched a video on this last week. This looks like the Ambernic RG35XX. I ordered one. Hopefully no issues, but I made sure to use paypal for their buyer protection.

It's usually $55 full price on the Ambernic site, resellers sometimes import it from China and ship it from the US for a premium. $44 after tax seems like a good deal if it's the same product and arrives in one piece.

This is one of the better newer options if you want to play anything from PS1 or earlier. The battery and screen are really good and there's an aftermarket OS called Garlic that adds a lot of functionality and fixes the bad stock OS.

The main competitor is the Miyoo mini plus, but that's still hard to find in stock. This deal matches the purple gameboy color better than the miyoo.

Well, "better" because the 353v has more powerful hardware to play higher performance systems. But, it's a different size and has extra buttons, is more expensive, and runs a different OS. So, some people might not want all of that.

353v is more powerful though, that's what I was referring to mostly.

More powerful is better but I like this form factor actually, more powerful means less frame skips or random issues especially if we are referring to PS1 games, which should be difficult to play without thumb sticks.

Ps1 will most likely play just fine on this 35xx also... But I agree with your point 👍

had this in my cart but i gave myself a day to reconsider. ROG ally preorders popped up. i'm going to save the $50 and apply it to the ally instead

these janky portable chinese devices are ALWAYS improving and iterating. i'm not convinced this one is perfect so i'm waiting

Good call. I have the Miyoo Mini Plus and it is incredible though. At this price point, RG35XX is a deal, but the Miyoo is definitely better.

Who am I kidding, I don't even have time to play with switch or anything else, what I am going to do with this rom gaming tool, although it would be amazing to have.
Plus, I think I still have my old PSP with custom firmware, but too lazy to use that, it's a little clunky to load roms.

I will free up some time for new zelda game.

I think it was mostly QC issues with the D pad (diagonal presses not registering correctly) appearing on the RG35XX but not on the Miyoo Mini +. There are comparison videos on youtube. It has been a few weeks since I watched.

Anyone have their order change to a different color? Researched this and saw the gray is made of more durable plastic than the white and purple so ordered that one but my order was shipped out today and is the white one… I have a screenshot of my order last night too
