    While I really like the Splat-r-ball gun I have, I find the ammo and magazines to be inconvenient for one my main uses - scaring critters away various area around the yard.

    If you leave the hydrated balls in the magazine they'll dry out and shrink, throwing off the timing of the feeder mechanism. The result is the gun just chews up the balls and throws bits everywhere or they get backed up in the feeding slot. If you leave the balls in water it takes a while to load them and get the magazine primed. By that time the target may have scurried away without a sharp lesson about why it shouldn't come back.

    For regular use, it's a lot of fun. The balls have a fair amount of velocity and fly pretty true. Auto with several hundred rounds in a mag is minutes of fun. The battery lasts longer than any session I've used it for.
