S22 family's SOC was built on Samsung's fabrication process. Samsung's process has worse energy efficiency compared to TSMC's. That's why the S22 family has bad battery life. The S23 were built on TSMC's and so were the S21's.
Amazon had this model going for $700 for about 2 weeks, same as best buy, yet you post it now when it's $750?
I got mine from best buy, called Samsung to verify the phone is brand new.
As a S23 Ultra and S22 Ultra owner prior, its a very nice upgrade between the two. With that said I would take the S22U in a heartbeat over many of the other offerings in that price range ie. ANY Pixel device. I tried the Pixel 7 Pro and the Pixel 6a both had unacceptable broken hardware features that no software updates will ever fix. They are skimping on internals to save pennies and rendering those phones mid to entry level hardware.
The Samsung screens are just as good as it gets. That alone puts them on a pedestal. You can use launchers to make them 100% One UI free for all the people that gripe that its not pure android. The last Pixels I tried were far from pure Android they were awful phones.
S22 Ultra gets middle of the road battery life but recharges very fast. The S23 Ultra charging rates are very very good. If I was going to get a phone right now I would get the S23 from Google Fi for $399. plus 120 days of service. Best deal out there anywhere right now that I have seen.

Yeah I got a S22 (Non ultra) and was absolutely flabbergasted at how bad the battery life was. Like the only reason I upgraded my S10 was because of battery life issues in my business after 3 years of use and the S22 had similar or worse battery life to my 3 year old S10 battery.
Upgraded to the S23 with the Spectrum deal and am back to basically never seeing the battery low and forgetting to charge regularly because it doesn't matter. Like the S22 on battery saver used battery faster than the S23 on regular.
Y'all, I bought the Galaxy Note 20 Ultra about 6 months ago and have been kicking myself that I didn't get the S22 Ultra. Now I'm thinking again about getting this. Any feedback?
The Snapdragon 8Gen1 that these phones are based off of are absolute garbage. Power hungry, thermal throttle constantly, underperform vs. everything else on the market. Get the next generation chipsets, 8Gen2 or later, reviews show night and day difference.
FYI I "upgraded" from S21 to S22, very pissed that I did so and I only use the phone in perpetual battery saver mode.

Yeah, i think I'm over the latest and greatest. I was a big Samsung guy getting the newest flagship phone every 2 years but the bloated price tags got to me.
I went to the Pixel 6 on a significantly cheaper deal (maybe $200-300) after my note 20 Ultra screen cracked and really the difference wasn't much for my use. Maybe its me just getting older lol.
