Never buy any "Eco-Drive" junk. Lithium battery is non serviceable and that battery usually dies in about 7 years so the watch ends up in a landfill. Eco-Drive, is complete junk!
I have an eco-drive that I got in 2002 and is still going til this day.

What must go through a designer's mind to think, this extremely busy dial is a good idea? Do they think anyone uses anything other than the time and date?

Good watch, great deal. Dial's a bit busy and it's a chonker (I have one), but it's rugged and a good looking watch on the wrist if you can sport it. Only recommended for wrist sizes 6.5" and above.

1. Impossible to remember how to set it up and all after years of not using it without reading the zillion page manual.
Seriously complex and convoluted.

2. Not the most reliable.
1 out of 4 died in regular, non-abusive use.
That's what youtube is for. I have the blue angels one. Once you know what all the dials do, it's rather basic. Is there a more complex one out there?

I don't think you buy a watch these days for reliability. You can get that with any $20 watch.

Feels. I wear a watch to pretend I'm very engaged while glancing down to keep track of how much of my life is being wasted during a conversation
I get you. I looked at my watch when I started reading your comment, and again when I was done, for that very reason!

Everything you've typed here is blatantly false and the capacitors can easily be replaced.

I have this since 8 years or so, all working fine.
But it's bit of work, when you need to adjust time .
Else it's perfect, its manly looking watch

I have a similar model which is a little less congested and very happy with it.

I got this exact one and love it. Yellow accents are on point.

That said, for $300, this isn't a bad deal if you want a black watch.

It's actually very easy to set up. You set what city you are in and you place the watch next to a window pointing to the direction of the tower in CO. By morning it should be set, the watch will check every 2 hrs. You can also manually turn on "receive" mode and use a free app to synchronize time. It usually takes a few minutes using the app.

I own this watch. I wear it occasionally now with my business casual gear when I dont want my smart watch interfering with my interactions. The crystal has obvious wear but it was an everyday item before I got my smartwatch. It really isnt that hard to switch between functions like stopwatch and timer. Initial set up took some prep. I still have camelx3 set up for this product at 300 from when I bought it. Great price if it fits what you are looking for. Other watch people will appreciate it.

No sapphire crystal, and for that I'm out.
I agree sapphire would have swayed me towards the purchase. Can't understand how Citizen chooses which eco drive models get the sapphire. You'd think with the msrp, this model would be one. This blue angels one has it, same msrp but $100 more on sale. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07G2G7...NrPXRydWU=

I must know something others don't? I've changed quite a few cells in Citizen Eco Drive watches over the years. I guess I should have been charging more... Wink

I have this limited edition version that has a sapphire crystal (but it has been discontinued), but it also doesn't have the super bright colors on the dial, so to me it looks less busy. https://www.citizenwatch.com/us/e...6-07E.html
