I have the 7.5 batteries and can't imagine using those 4.0 with that mower. Maybe a small lawn?

The 7.5ah runs an hour i think. I know it does my front and back yards on a single charge with room to spare
little more than 1/8 acre . Thats with self propelled enabled and medium length grass, mulching

I can get almost 90 minutes on the high end out of it depending on how long the grass is. Keep in mind I am NOT using the self propelled feature. Just pushing it myself mostly. Occasionally using the self-propelled feature to navigate one handed past some tree limbs. But overall agree with MrYeti. You are looking about roughly an hour.

It's nice if you have other tools. I have two spare 5 amp batteries too so, between the 7.5 and the 5amp batteries I never have to worry about not having enough juice.

I have about 2500 sqrft of grass and never ran out using a 7.5 amp. Once I forgot to charge it so I edged, weeded, blown, and mowed using (2) 2.5's. 4's might make sense if you have a decent size front and back AND use the batteries to weed and blow.

I also switched the fan/blade out for the select cut (double blade). that'll cost about $80 bucks if you can just get one that comes with it, but I also wanted the bagging high lift blade set so all depends on your needs and budget.

I have been seeing more and more Ego deals with 4aH battery kit instead of the 5aH kit, is this their was of cutting cost?

Should work, but remember it won't work if you pay fully or partially with gift cards. For the combo blower and trimmer with 4 ah battery they have for $229 I did the 2 x $100 gift cards for $170 at PayPal and used another site for 5% cashback rather than use the 15% here.

I'd imagine the idea is one could be charging while you use the other, and you get a supposed 8ah.

I have the 7.5 but we have about 1/5 acre of thick grass with self propelled, so I almost always have to swap in a 5.0 battery to finish the job after the 7.5 runs out. But I only have the single battery mower 🤷 ♂️
