In my day, the "big" box of crayons only came with one, black. We didn't need fancy coloring books, our shading pamphlets were enough for us. Kids are so spoiled these days.

Come on now. We both know the big box came with 8 crayons & had every color in the rainbow. But it is true that all we ever really needed was a pencil & paper to keep us going for hours.

And not just for drawing. Kites, snow flakes, paper dolls, planes, paper chains. Plenty more where that came from. You could argue that kids today are being deprived of that aspect of creativity.

I don't care if my age is showing. I feel kind of sorry for what kids are missing out on while they grow up on all the glitz & techno-magic of the day.
