Oh, and appliances, too, but they're not worth mentioning since they're so unreliable.

This sale is worse than the launch sale. I guess it's better to wait until the new Iphone launches at this point.

For some people who don't want to mail in their phone to do a trade in:

This might not help everyone, but Samsung has only literally a couple of stores in the U.S.

If you are by one, you are able to do the trade-in deals there usually in person.
They inspect and confirm the condition of your phone in front of you and you can get the new phone on the SPOT if they have it in stock. If it's not in stock at the store, you can order it to your house.

I was fortunate to be by one when a deal happened like this for the s20 or s21.

Also usually later on in the year q3/q4, best buy has the same or better deals where you can trade in person as well.

Probably need a Fold4, S22U, or iPhone 14 Pro Max to get anywhere near that.

The US unlocked (non-carrier unlock) variants work with international SIM/eSIM, right? Finding mixed info online. Some info online state it doesn't work but find it hard to believe they'd region lock an "unlocked" phone, more likely these people just don't have the correct band coverage at their destination.
Yes, you can use S22 with international SIMs but not S23, even unlocked. This is why I went with the renewed S22U deal a couple of days ago for $322 w/ S10+ trade-in ($330 TIV).

Edit: I stand corrected. It looks like if the phone was activated and used in the US first then used internationally in another country with an internaional SIM, it will work.

Samsung's pricing is deceptive. It's not 88% OFF or promo price: $99. The base S23 still sells for $799 and you have to trade-in something for $700 to get a net cost of $99. It's like a dealership claiming to sell a $50K car for 90% OFF (promo price: $5K) but you have to trade in a car worth $45K.

You can, but like any US variant phone, it all depends on what bands are needed for the country. We used our work S23Us just fine in Korea a month ago.

And the phones that will likely fetch $700 will be ones you can sell for more than $700 on Swappa or eBay. They think we're stupid.

$380 trade-in for a Note 20. Guess I won't be doing anything at this time. Unless I could stack some $200 junkers.

this is not correct....the unlocked S23 works globally......I have already confirmed with 2 different reps....."If you purchase Unlocked version Mobile it will work with all the carriers available in the globe, you will not be in any contract with the carrier you can switch your sim at any time with any different carrier."

Not too great, but the $50 e-cert can be applied to another phone
