We are just bought this to use primary as a household "dust buster" type vacuum, mainly for baby/toddler messes. Works great for this and takes advantage of the numerous batteries we already have. Great prices at $99 and will be more of a project vacuum when the kids are older.

Do you have to have the 20V 4 battery to run these ? I have several dewalt batteries but do not want to turn around and spend another $100 on a battery and charger just for the handvac

I have this. The suction is not that great. It works for loose particles, but it does poorly on "stuck" particles like sand in the trunk of your car.

Think of this as a "better dust buster" and not "handheld shop vac." But in fairness, even my 5 HP shop vac can't get all sand out of my truck's carpet after a day on the beach.

Narrow nozzle is better suction like in the Dyson....
This wide nozzle will not be as effective suction.

Will this do a decent enough job to vacuum car seats and carpet? Don't need professional detail quality.

I'd get something stronger if your looking at doing interior cleaning jobs

Darn. Really looking for a Dewalt vacuum option since I have so many Dewalt batteries.

Dewalt does have another hand held vac but dry use only. Suction is great but it does seem to run through batteries. I have the dyson v10 and it's comparable to it. I got it for garage, auto and outdoor messes. Saving the dyson for inside use only. My brother does have this model dry/wet use and the mouth of it makes it a hassle to use. If it came with other attachments it would be great.

Great response. We have a bunch of these at work and they're terrible.

Have this too. Bought it to use as an around the house dust buster type vacuum. Didn't expect much. Bought this because I already have a plethora of DeWalt batteries and I didn't want to get something with a charging cord.

It's a decent vac I guess, kind of unwieldy. Swapping batteries is nice. Dumping the bin is easy and the filter is removable and easily washable. It's not the most powerful vac though.

The hose does detach from the wide built in nozzle for spot treatment.
