You have to run wire for PoE/communication and decide how and where you're storing recording. Functionality wise these are much better.

I have Arlo and am moving away as well, because subscriptions and being welcomed to an advertisement every time I open the app is an immediate bye bye for me.

Have this camera. Wide view captures 4k and zoom does 1080p. FPS is 20 and 15 respectively during the day according to Blue Iris.

Not using an NVR, using a synology and have a separate POE switch but it does sound like I need to run the one cable to another poe switch and then run 2 wires.

I see people mention the free or no sub benefits, but it looks like it is really stripped down. I seem to see that it limits you to 1 camera and might not even include alerts, can anyone comment on this?

(I read that dahau is better optica, but they don't seem to have a wireless and wifi option... I'm trying to get my foot in the door but finding it hard to compare apples to apples)

so if it's recording 2 lenses at the same time, are we getting 2k videos per lense, or still 4k videos per lense?
This is exactly the case well said.

Ultimately the picture did not have in the clarity to read details

Stripped down in what regards?

No subscription and still have full push-to notification to smart phone with motion cause identified (person vs vehicle vs animal), ability to view cameras live as well as view all recordings via app, browser or NVR, and the capability to retain all recordings as long as you have the disk space (via SD card in camera or HDD in NVR).

Does it take special kind of Ethernet? Is cat5e good enough?

How come 11 port is cheaper than 10 or 8 port?

You can control the light via BI as well as Home Assistant if you have the recent updates. This model also works with their POE floodlights so you can sync them together based on motion rules.
Thanks for confirming, HA compatibility info is always helpful. Do you know if this camera will show up as two separate video streams in Home Assistant or any other RTSP-compatible camera software (Frigate for example)?

Can Two Cameras be Connected via One Cable

The answer is NO.

Applies to: Reoilink PoE cameras.

Reolink PoE cameras can be powered over the Ethernet cable, and the Ethernet cable can transmit both data and PoE power.

You may run 1 Ethernet cable from the NVR to a PoE switch, then plug 2 cameras (up to 3 cameras) into the PoE switch.

However, please don't split 1 Ethernet cable into 2 RJ45 connectors, as 1 PoE port can't provide enough power for 2 cameras. And also, the Ethernet splitter doesn't support 2 cameras connecting to the network at the same time.
True but if you have power in the attic you can add a cheap poe network switch and run two cables out of the poe switch off the one original cable you had. This is what I am doing underneath my house one cable to a poe switch that then powers 4 cameras all signals get back to the nvr no problem.
