Hold the line until all the old models are sold out or removed from shelves. Then you can wait another few years for the new models to come down in price.

You can do better for this price unless you want 64GB RAM. All the cheapest deals have a memory limit of 32GB.

Otherwise, you'll be stuck building something yourself (what I ended up choosing last weekend) or waiting. This really should be $700 on sale to match the recent 12400+3060 deals lately.
That 700 12400 is both a slower processor on multicore AND only has a 1 year warranty whereas the Costco one has a 2 year AND the AMD processor can go to 64 GBs unlike the 12400. Plus you get Costco's return policy not "Antonline".

This deal is decidedly better than the $700 deal from Antonline.

Not sure why everyone's so down on this deal. Seems like a good price for entry level gaming or a solid office PC (4 monitor support + gaming/video editing). I chose the absolute cheapest equivalent parts (b450 chipset mobo) and it came to ~$800. That still doesn't include windows license, kb/mouse or assembly. Adding those license and kb/mouse would get you close or over this cost.

Agreed feels like a lot of people just making up reasons to be upset.

Also unlike most of the cheap desktop deals (Like HP Victus and the like) this one uses a relatively standard ATX sized power supply (which is also a 80+ Gold PSU). Most of the cheaper desktops are using absolute trash tier custom PSUs that aren't user replaceable which means you will never be able to upgrade the graphics card for instance. This deal is about as good as exists in the sub 1k desktop price point right now.

it is a ridiculous build. Why add GPU to an APU?

It would've been a cooler setup with an itx-build for that 5700g with a higher-speed ram kit, maybe 4000mhz, I'd bet the APU only could sell for under $500. Scrap the 3060 altogether and sell it for less. Or pair it with the 5600, and it the cost by $100. Or the 5700 and save $50. I wish you could change that. This is a dumb apu-gpu combo from Lenovo. Not a bad deal if you're looking for a new, last-gen prebuilt. Costco makes people feel safe, everyone should chill about this being a terrible deal. Many can't live without knowing their electronics have a warranty, give them a break, not a thumbs down.

It was FP for the same price (minus shipping) from Micro Center last month. From my experience people prefer Costco for their ease of returns/support.

Im looking for a PC capable of photo editing using Lightroom and standard productivity work and web browsing. My 11 year old would like to do some basic coding in Unity, Blender, Roblox etc…
He enjoys Steam and would like to use his VR headset with this device. He'd also like to try Xbox game pass.
Can anyone comment if this would work well for these applications? If not, could you point me to any deals on a pre-built in the $800-1000 range? I'm no expert and am not sure what I should be looking for. Thank you!

The 3060 with 12 GBs of ram holds up better than the 3070 or 3080 do on newer titles because of the VRAM requirements.
Ram only carries you so far when the gpu is weak (the equivalent of a gtx 1080)in itself. Higher resolution (the reason for more ram) isn't going to be any benefit when you're already at medium settings at 1080p.

Yes, 12gb is considered a necessity for future games, but the 3060 wasn't great at 1440p for existing titles, so it's going to be worse for the near future.

This + a two-year extended Costco warranty AND up to 4% in rewards depending on your membership level and/or credit card.

I replaced my 10 years old pc with this and I'm happy. It's fast and quiet. Im using this mainly for day trading stock, have multiple charts open at once with no issues at all. Only the built in sound is sucks another than that I like everything else.

Solid deal if you need a gaming prebuilt now. The propriety parts on this are actually okay. Upgrades are obviously limited, but its 500wt psu does leave room for some. I agree that this is more appealing than the Antonline deal with Costco's ease of return/exchanges and 2yr warranty while the former will just give you a middle finger if anything goes wrong. I got this deal as a last minute gift instead of the Antonline one for this reason despite $100 more. i5-12400 vs Ryzen-5700g can go neck in neck depending on opinion.

Though I could see better prebuilt deals coming for the rest of the year if you can wait. I do hope the i7 deal with the same price comes back though.

This will be more than fine for all of those purposes listed. Blender should be fine, unless he's doing some heavy extensive things there.

Agreed with all this. The price difference with ant vs the better warranty and returns and stuff isn't close. Plus if a better deal comes in the next 90 days it's Costco just return it
