Don't trust Eufy for any camera systems, they were recently caught storing user data that they weren't supposed to have access to.

For $23 (even for $40) you should treat every system as if it's compromised. That said, I have over a dozen Eufy cameras (indoor cams and pan/tilts) and highly recommend them. But mine are in common-sense areas that aren't a national security risk…

How is this different than their regular pan and tilt camera?

I hope eufy employees enjoy looking at the mailman everyday because that's about as exciting as my footage gets.

Ok. So which brand should I be looking at then?

edit:

my favorite compromises are as follows

but refurbished because the problems are now fixed

trust vendors that are breached, because they are required to upgrade their security, except LastPass... they can't get their house in order after the many attempts

trust companies that store your data when they weren't suppose to because they already got caught? lol lots of Chinese cameras on the market that haven't been caught yet.

I don't know if *RFB* is supposed to be "refurbished" but this is labeled as a "renewed" product

I think the biggest issue is how Eufy (Anker) handled the entire situation. It was dragged out and terribly executed. Linus Tech really outlined it nicely. Even dropped them as a sponsor.

I have the same question. Assuming you mean the S220 Indoor Cam.

-Don't trust eufy...spying...chinese...data...blah blah
(Talks to phone)
-Hey siri, what's the weather today?
(Talks to box on the shelf)
-Alexa, where is my amazon package 📦?
(Picks up iPad and logs into Gmail account)
(Turns on "smart tv" with voice)
(Sit back on the couch thinking 🤔 about how safe and satisfied you are because your data is not in chinese hands. You feel good knowing that no one is spying on or monitoring you.)

I found the link below. Aside from a few minor differences, they look like the same product.

This is a stand alone unit which requires a MicroSD card for recording. From what I read it doesn't integrate into the Eufy Homebase environment.

This. I have Eufy cameras for the doorbell, front yard (from inside), back alley behind the garage, side fences, and enclosed entry area. Indoor cameras are Lorex, but not connected to the outside Internet (though the system they write to is), likewise for the well hidden perimeter monitoring cameras. The visible outside cameras are decoys with battery powered LEDs.

...

Nice house with a nice yard in a not that nice part of Baltimore.
