a quick search shows it doesn't seem to be supported by dd-wrt or openwrt. Anyone have one that can confirm whether it can or not?

thanks!

For anyone wondering, this works perfectly for Oculus AirLink. No stuttering.

Many years ago, I bought a refurbished GPS that was listed on SD. When I plugged it into my PC to update the maps via USB, my Windows Defender found a virus on it. 😆 I think I'll pass on something that was possibly hacked. Otherwise, it's probably a true SD like we haven't seen in years.

Personally I prefer Asus..scored an RT-AX68U on Ebay for $40 that had an issue but was still under warranty. Asus repair sent me a new one as a replacement and its rock solid like all my other Asus routers Smilie Hope this one works for everyone who buys one

How long are ASUS routers usually under warranty?

I just started having internet issues. Either my 9 year old Cisco docsis 3.0 modem is going out or my ASUS RT AX56U is freaking out but after reboot of both internet only works for 15 minutes and then it's dead.

So this wouldn't be a bad back up idea. I have an older netgear nighthawk for our smart devices being used as a repeater and this device might be a good replacement for that or for the main system if ASUS ever gets back to me

And in recent years I haven't liked anything from netgear it seems like all their new models suck and are severely limited in the last 5 years but one thing I'll give netgear credit for is they tend to support routers after many years with firmware updates and I have seen some routers that were initially terrible get fixed with updates.

I am sure this router has a purpose for someone and somewhere. But there are a few things I won't try to go too cheap on.

1. Shoes
2. Bed
3. Home networking

PSA, if you are experiencing poor speed on this router, please login on the management panel and navigate to this settings:
Advanced > Setup > QoS Setup > WMM
Then enable both checkboxes, then apply.

all "AX" routers are a showstopper for 3rd party/opensource
