Will post again. If you live in the Chicago/Milwaukee area then you can buy a lightly used Steelcase Gesture for $300 from a reputable resale shop. The one I bought still had tags attached.

I have another Gesture I purchased through Crandall and only have great things to say about both Crandall and the Gesture. Just want to let the SD community know that there is currently a better option available.
If you're going to buy one of these chairs first check out the local market on Craigslist, OfferUp and Facebook Marketplace. You can find them cheaper. I picked up a Leap V2 for $120 and an Aeron for $350. Both are like new.
Pls put prices in the title and the description post.

Ordered the Gesture with headrest for $950 total, almost 50% less than a new one, hopefully it's in good shape

I've had Steelcase at offices before and they just didn't feel comfortable. The Arm rests always seemed to be wonky and could never get at a good height (too low or too high).

For the Gesture, had you used before? Tested in person? Why this over one of the other ones?

All the ones I'm seeing start at $1700. Is there a 50% coupon I'm missing?

Wow, this is perfect for me, do I just visit their Des Plaines location and pick one of these up there? Or do I need to call to place an order for pickup

edit: i gave em a quick call and confirmed they have them in that location for pick up!

Never tested it in person, but seen alot of reviews and since I play guitar it seems like the arms of the Gesture can move out of the way enough for my guitar to not bump into them, unlike most other high-end chairs

Why does it say "ADDITIONAL 15% off?? That implies they are already on sale, and the 15% is in addition to that, but from what I am seeing on their website they are not on sale. The only discount is the 15% there is no other amount off.

Is it necessary to have a headrest on these? I usually lay back on my chair (a pretty good chair with headrest) but it's been 5 years and the foam cover is ripping a bit. Since most of these don't have headrests I'm guessing it's not necessary in these?

A headrest is mostly personal preference, the reason a lot of these don't have headrests is that these are commonly purchased by companies for their offices and they are designed more ergonomically for doing work at a desk where you won't be laying back often, if at all. Not having the headrest saves a decent bit of money per chair and adds up very quickly when making bulk purchases.
