Seems like a pretty good deal for a relatively quiet dishwasher, stainless steel interior tub, and pretty decent warranty on the inverter motor.

Has inflation come down much on this or appliances in general? Overall inflation is down but I've not been looking at appliance market for several years. Wondering if this is close to pre-Covid price.

Also, Memorial Day best time to buy appliances or there a better time of the year like BF?

I believe the pandemic may have only impacted the supply and not the prices of appliances.

FWIW, I purchased this dishwasher in Dec 2021 when it was on sale for the same price. At the time, it was one of the only ones in stock. I have no issues except I wish there was an option to turn off the chime at the end of the wash cycle.

Great to know! Thanks for feedback! I currently have a Whirlpool W10632081A and it's pretty poor. The door doesn't pop open all the time on cycle and dispense the tab out. Also we have to hand wash dishes first pretty dang well or it won't get stuff off.

I like the idea of the top rack for silverware since ours on the door is finicky.

LG dishwashers are the crappiest. I had to deal with a leak for few months. They couldn't fix it after 3 attempts. Thanks to Costco customer service. I was able to return it after 8 months. Never getting LG dishwasher again

I purchased this LG dishwasher for about this price in the end of 2020. I love LG washer and dryers and though this would be great as well…. Nope!!!

First problem appeared about a year into it - a small crack in the top of the plastic door. No big deal. Then at 18 months the rack started rusting - I purchased Uber Goop and would sand and touch it up every 3-4 months as new spots appeared. This was a temp solution. Then at about 2 year mark, a strange loud sound from the motor appeared - but dishwasher still worked. Then about 3 months ago there was a smell of electric burning and the entire dishwasher was full of smoke when I opened the door. After this it completely died. I was happy that the house didn't tho up in fire.

After this mess, as much I like Cosco and their dishwasher delivery, haul away and warranty - I went with Bosch which is known to be the best brand for dishwashers (they have many models for different budgets). I guess what I'm trying to say - read the reviews and consider staying away. Costco has better dishwashers from Maytag or others available with stainless tubs for about same price . Also consider looking up Bosch and getting it from another retailer.

I really wish Costco had the Bosch 300 series. They had a great deal on a Maytag model that expired yesterday (was runner-up recommendation in Wirecutter's most recent dishwasher round-up.) Wife is adamant about getting the Bosch though so we'll likely take advantage of the $100 off at Best Buy. Bosch is also offering up to a $300 mail-in rebate on installation but AFAIK that's only at Lowes.

That is no good, it is only half price of a Bosch 500. Even Bosch have replaced many stainless steel parts with plastic ones. So far, no rust in about a year. But the water is not as hot as it used to be, maybe a feature to save energy, which I do not care much. I only want it to clean super well.

Purchased this exact model for $100 more last November. So far (only been 6 months) it's worked great, but now if I read the above reviews I need to worry about all these issues. Big Grin
I also got the Allstate extended warranty, so if anything happens for 4.5 more years it is covered under that.

The dishwasher is quiet and works well. I really like it. The 3rd rack is a great feature that I use a lot more than I thought I would.

Also have LG washer/dryer set that was purchased almost 12 years ago, still going strong... Also bought extended warranty for that set but never needed to use it!

I have had similar problems with the nearly identical LG LDT7808ST that I purchased in February of 2019 from this deal.

A small rust spot appeared near the back of the middle rack. I ignored it for a few months and it slowly got worse. Eventually I contacted LG and asked for a repair or replacement under the terms of the warranty and they offered to mail me a replacement rack. After a few weeks I received a new bottom rack instead of the middle rack. I called LG again and explained that I was sent the wrong rack and asked if they would send the correct rack. They apologized and told me to keep the wrong rack and that they would send the correct middle rack. A few weeks later I received another bottom rack. This time I looked up the exact replacement part that I needed in some LG parts diagram online and called them back again. I forget all of the details but I ended up receiving two of the correct middle racks, one with only the rack itself that I would have to move a bunch of pieces from my rusty rack to and another rack that had all of the movable parts and pieces already attached.

I also have multiple cracks on the top control panel where the buttons are (which don't affect functionality) and this seems to be a common problem. LG would not replace this part when I asked but I forget if this was because the 2-year Manufacturer's Warranty had expired or if this problem was not covered by the warranty.

*Edit*
There seem to be issues with connecting this device to WiFi for its SmartThinq features. I somehow got mine connected a few years ago when I used a Netgear router running Tomato firmware but since switching to Ubiquiti hardware for my Wi-Fi I cannot get this dishwasher connected to Wi-Fi. Here's one Reddit post on the issue [reddit.com].

I went to an appliance (not a big box) store, kicking tires on a $699 dishwasher similar to this with "better" (their words) components that they sell. Turns out their warranty is no different than their bigbox competitors, plus it was $350 (!) to install it. I could, theoretically almost buy two of these for that price.

Discmanseller / dhc: how often are you using the dishwasher? the old Whirlpool this would replace doesn't clean so good (but is not making mechanical noises) and that old guy gets used about once a week (only 2 of us in the house).

I use it daily or at least every other day.

Maybe your old dishwasher is capable of cleaning just fine but you're not doing everything you could be doing to allow it to do the best possible job. I have to do these things even with my new-ish dishwasher for it to clean properly.
  1. Clean any filters in the dishwasher. Sometimes the spray arms need to be cleaned too.
  2. Clean the dishwasher itself with vinegar or a dishwasher cleaning product.
  3. Make sure that you run your kitchen sink until it's hot (assuming that your dishwasher is connected to that same water line) so that the dishwasher has hot water right away.
  4. Make sure that you add powdered dishwasher soap to the pre-wash dispenser or right into the bottom of the tub before you start it.
  5. If you have hard water at home you might need to be using a bit more soap than you would with soft water.

Thanks for the answer and advice. If you are using yours 3x a week, I suppose if I got one, I'd expect it to wear out less quickly.

a) No filter that I can get to without disassembly. spray arms also would have to be disassembled
b) I'm not sure how that would help
c) Already start the hot water and get it hot before turning on the dishwasher
d) The soap door doesn't always reliably open, so the dishwasher soap goes in the bottom
e) City water

Needed a new washer and dryer. Ended up buying this to get the $300 back plus another $200 for buying three appliances. Nice to get an $800 dishwasher for $100!

Thanks
