Why? Most people don't use the health features of their watch anyways. What features do more expensive Apple watches have that this doesn't?

Called Doc Brown, he said he couldn't make it over with the delorean to go back 2 years ago. But he did say considering where inflation is that this is a great deal.

And I ask the doc and he slipped a note next to my desk to buy this watch. Now I am gonna ask him to remove it because it is collecting dust.

At least 1 year less support since this was the same price a year ago. So, it's overpriced right now. Most people buy these devices for health tracking.

My statement has nothing to do with whether it's a good deal or not. It's about whether this is a bad watch. I disagree that most people would buy this for health tracking. Perhaps some think they want health tracking features but in the end they only use basic ones like gps for running and step counting which this watch does fine. I have a family full of smartwatch users and they are all this way. We have watches as early as apple watch 3 that is not looking to be replaced.
Back to my original question. What features do other watches have that this doesn't?

I wasn't pricing these two years ago, only in the last month and for new and not renewed this was the best price I could find. Better values are available for newer watches but I need one to pair with my elderly mother's iPhone 6s Plus and the new watches need iPhone 8 or newer. So for some people this is a good deal without getting used/renewed.

From what I can find, the SE doesn't have a blood oxygen sensor, temperature sensing, and the ability to take an ECG. I think all of the other "health tracking" functionality is there.

I have this watch in 44mm version. It was a gift; I probably would have spent more on the series 7 at the time. But I have zero complaints. The only time I've ever paid any attention to my O2 sats was when I had Covid, and oximeters are like $10.

Exactly, outside of covid, how many people will actually use the O2 sat or even know what to do with that info?

EKG is not that reliable so it's not that useful. Again, would people know what to do with it? I know doctor friends who wouldn't know how to read it.

Apple loves convincing people to spend money on features they don't really need.

Like I said the predominant number of people only use the GPS and step counting features, which this has.
