In addition to what someone else mentioned, NVMe SSDs aren't going to be noticeably faster than SATA drives for most uses. The benefits of NVMe are usually only significant to certain use cases, and most people doing those things won't still be using a machine that doesn't have any NVMe slots. SATA is perfectly adequate for most people. In fact, I'd rather have a good SATA drive than a low end NVMe drive.
Practical standpoint. Not many people will need full nvme speed. 99% will be ok with this SATA speed as storage cost is close to 50% of a cheaper NVME 2TB from say teamgroup.
I been buying 2TB NVME with enclosure as I don't need a boot drive and I can pop into new machines later. Probably will never happen as newer nvme will tickle my fancy later and I will just get newer and faster nvme (not because I need the performance but because it's on the market for sale!!!!)
Edit: read the post wrong. I thought it was 2TB. Yah. I rather get NVME instead
