Just FYI it's on sale at this price pretty much every Tuesday during their flash sale.
It's a riskier endeavour I suppose, but I just learned you can buy 52V 18.5Ah dual 1000W motor scooters on Alibaba for $700 that go 40mph and have a 40mile claimed range. That would be 962Wh of battery versus the 561Wh of this Segway. They go by the names of "T10-DDM" or "Zero 10x". They are what Varla rebrands as the Varla Eagle. You'd get four times the power so you can actually climb hills, and they come with hydraulic brakes. A 500W single motor can go up a gentle incline, but my experience has been that they need a little assistance on steeper hills unless you are small. A person shopping this one probably isn't cross shopping a Varla Eagle, but just sharing that info.
Fyi this is technically not as good as the new segway max 2 coming out in july

The new display unit is modem for once. The old max felt so outdated

I really appreciate that they list the range at high speed (~21.2 miles). The 10.5" tires should be quite stable.

I'm kind of wary of the lack of suspension though. The big tires should keep it relatively smooth as far as bumps on the road, but with all that force being absorbed by the tires, I'm a bit concerned what would happen if one of the tires blew at 25mph...

New MAX G2 is coming on JUNE for $800 with SUSPENSION but ugly display though. I ordered this instead according to my e-bike experience, you only see the display to check the battery level after few weeks.

The Max G2 is $200 cheaper which is a better deal. Thanks for the info.

There are advantages and risks. The advantage of segway is that they go with manufacturer with very consistent high quality production line like xiaomi. The other brands may use the same manufacturer but they could also be going with a smaller outfit that has inconsistent quality control where product quality is very hit or miss, or just plain bad. This is same with quality of internal parts and manufacture, like battery cells, the bms, etc. Really do your research first before buying anything to minimize buying garbage. The truth eventually comes out in the reviews, so at least that.

No name brand, large battery sounds like a receipe to possibly burn down your garage or whole house though!

It's literally the exact same thing as a Varla Eagle, and it can be had with an LG battery, but I don't care what you choose. It's made by Titan which is one of the largest brand names of scooters. They just sell to others to rebrand.
