The price is still too high for a 40W speaker. Even though it's Philips. No surprise it's still not sold. Posted 2 and a half weeks ago.

This is really very very far from scientific analysis but in my own opinion it should not be more than $1 per watt. Unless this is some kind of premium speaker like Sony, JBL, etc.

I wonder if maybe $1.50-$1.75/watt might open up the market a bit. Seems like very few and far between at the $1/watt point, even on "budget" brands. I wish I could hear these things before buying them. 40 watts should be pretty full sounding I'd think.

If you are not in a hurry just keep an eye on Slickdeals. I saw 25, 30W speakers for $19.99 when on sale. Zamkol for example. Not a brand name but they produce pretty good speakers. This Phillips is definitely better than Zamkol but $70 is more than 3 times higher than $20.
