This is a highly debated subject and there is much disagreement.
This is further compounded by the fact that these bottles are 50% recycled plastic, and who knows if the plastic used is BPA/BPS/phthalate free.

It's all about the use case.
Metal bottles can also leach chemicals depending on their composition, lining, etc. This applies to any canned, bottled, etc., liquid you may be consuming.
Point being, know what your buying and make a decision your comfortable with.
Personally, I use a stainless steel bottle and don't keep water in it for extended periods and generally just drink water out of a glass at home.
