That sucks. But if in the future you or anybody does have to use rice with weevils, the process to remove them is the same as washing rice before cooking. Put the rice in water and run your fingers through it. The bugs float up. Throw the water and do it a few more times to get rid of all the bugs. Being in a cabin with just rice and beans....weevils are just extra protein.
Maybe if you've never had good extra long basmati. Also, lots of basmati ain't basmati and I wouldn't trust this very middling rice to be. The top ranked brands below are all good but won't be easy to find if you don't live in a large metro. Once you go good quality extra long, you'll never go back.
Pretty sure this is the same $/lb as Sams Club so not really an amazing deal but delivery is nice.
While this is not top tier basmati, aged at least 24 mos, it's decent. I think it's aged 12 mos and you really have to rinse it well so it cooks up fluffy. To get better quality you need to spend 2x - 3x per pound or buy the huge sacks. 15 lbs is already a large quantity for many households.
ATK tested basmati and they were happy with all the Indian options. The domestic stuff was bottom tier. Save the super expensive stuff for when you really want to impress your guests.
If you have any Indian grocery store in your city then buy India Gate or Kohinoor from there. There is nothing royal in this basmati rice. Once you have those, you won't go back to Royal Basmati.

Last time i bought this, the rice was infested by weevils. Threw it all away.

Tried to post that above. I used to buy India Gate but my local Cash and Carry stopped carrying it and then I read the PDF of the purity test I put in an earlier post. So, now I have Daawat Ultima but I feel that IG or Kohinoor were a bit better.
staple of a Persian or Indian kitchen. But they have 20lbs of these in Walmart for 20. Not sure if a special price. Very good rice with low GI Index if you are into that stuff.
Tilda Pure Basmati Rice, Premium Aromatic and Authentic Rice, Large Resealable Bag, 10-Pound Bag,White has a 40% off Subscribe and save coupon for me...ymmv.
Then you buy arborio rice.. you cannot and should not make risotto with basmati.. I have had this earlier and will probably not buy again.. if you want a cheap good basmati.. buy the zafrani at Costco.. that's way better and similarly priced.. forget exactly.. but thats what I buy now for daily use.. tilda and dawaat for special dishes/ occasionally
