In regards to the 12" air cannon, https://www.homedepot.c
Per the video review I found for the prior model 7.5 misting fan PMF01 @ https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2-2De_MhtAk around the 10:30 minute mark, it's shown that attaching a hose works because the pressure from the hose forces water out of the brass misting nozzles. However if the hose is dropped into a bucket, nothing happens unless you actually turn on the "misting button" which essentially turns on the pump.
Also if you check the Q&A on the product page for the 12" air cannon misting fan, someone asks specifically if it can be used on a bucket, and Ryobi support responds that no, it's not compatible.
Edit: Just responding to another comment, but so much thread-crapping and/or misinformation. Not sure why that's happening so frequently these days people posting bad information. While the video review above is regarding the older model PMF01 @ https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2-2De_MhtAk at the 12:30 minute mark, the guy claims he got around 4 hours of runtime with 1 bar left on a 4Ah battery. If you pay attention to the setting he used, it looks like he utilized the high mist setting too. I can't imagine a newer model would have drastically different runtimes.
