Looks like it was 100 cheaper 3 weeks ago on Amazon.

Probably clearing stock for new model.

I saw late 23 early 24. Might push price higher too. You'll be talking potentially close to double with price jump and some deals on these (maybe 1500?)

At this price ...and if you dont need HDMI 2.1/8K..
I would STRONGLY suggest you look at one of the discontinued Arcam AVR's that Magnolia/Best Buy has
Keep an eye out for inventory and even open box unit if you have a store nearby where you can check it out

No Dirac live is a tough pill to swallow. It's a game changer in my opinion.

Dennon has the exact same thing, its called audacity.
That's quite a bit different... Same idea, but Dirac Live is really really impressive and considered the gold standard.

I got avr10 last year from listenup to replace my Marantz 7005, pretty happy. 5.1.4, use an amplifier to push LCR speakers..

If that's the game changer and you prefer Denon you can get it on the 3800.

With its 11 assignable preouts, preamp mode and it's said to have the same DAC as this, that's a lot of value for around $1200 + $349(Dirac).

Keep in mind current Pioneer/Onkyo Dirac models does not include Dirac's bass management(DLBC).
Denon/Marantz current models will get the option sometime next year.

Now that that game changer is available on these lower level AVRs, going with higher end AVR's is pretty much moot especially for the cost.

TBH someone with this and comfortable making adjustments can just get Audyssey X for $199 and get pretty close to what Dirac offers IMO.
Heck XT32 + Editor app does so well, Dirac would be nice but not needed.
It's nice Denon/Marantz doesn't make you have to pay for it.

Actually Trinnov would be the gold standard.

There are several others below that, Dirac is just the more known/popular one.

See... There was my mistake 🤣. Posting to a thread as only a novice AVR enthusiast! Good to know!

I just pulled the trigger on a Monolith 16 over the weekend. Was that a good call?
If I only use one, there's no need for a mini DSP or extra Dirac Live license, right?
