Totally different uses. It like all tools, if you don't immediately know what you're going to use it for don't buy it or it'll sit in storage being useless.

Maybe someone has had better luck with the circular saw but I was building a deck and it can't hang. Even with a new Diablo blade it was stalling. Too bad too. Usually love Ryobi.
