I've been watching and waiting for this unit to come down from $300 for quite some time. Looks like it got even lower last September.

This is a good price. I picked this up at the REI garage sale from $120. The concept is pretty cool, but the execution is below expectations. Thing blows smoke, even though it states it doesn't, but it's definitely not near as much as a fire pit. It's clunky to take around for camping, and you are probably better off just using rocks to make a pit. Fan battery life is around what is advertised depending on the settings, but be careful with your wood load as you will melt the battery. It did not happen to me but I saw it on some of the other units at the garage sale. Cooking feature works like any other grill top, and will rust when you clean it. This would have been worth the hassle to me if it had the built in feature, like their other product, where the fire is used as energy to charge the battery. My two cents, and I would not buy again.

Costco had these for 99.97 - agreed with all of your shared experiences. We returned ours.
