Yes it will work but it used DirectInput instead of xInput so might not work with some games that only support the newer xInput standard but you can get around that by using an input mapper like the one built into steam with it's controller config.

It looks like you could file that away with a nail file.

Another option would be to get a micro USB to USB C adapter and upgrade the port.

Who handles power a returns when one of these break? I bought 2 similar ones for my son and both drift all over the place.

True - No rumble at all. But the plus side is it is light, has 2 mappable buttons (nice for running instead of clicking down the stick), and 3.5mm jack for audio which you won't see on switch pro.
