$6 isn't enough. I'm going to swap over to pennzoil. They still have their $10 dollar rebate and the price at Walmart is cheaper than Mobil 1

Because many rebates don't end up getting claimed or used which means some people accidentally pay full price when they intended to get the rebate.

I left Mobil 1 years ago because of the price against Costco and have never looked back.
You're looking back now though.

Go by the manual on when to change your oil, 5k or 10k, it has recommendations for both under normal conditions vs severe conditions. Don't drive your car a lot? That's also considered severe conditions because carbon tends to build up faster when you drive for really short distance before your engine even warms up.

The point is there is really no need to argue if its 5k or 10k, just read the manual and it will tell you. Go by what your car manufacturer says, not the oil company claims. They put a lot of research into what is recommended for your engine.

Most oil manufactures are also the same producer under Warren so differences are minimal, if you don't want to chance it, use OEM.

Just buy the oil at Walmart. It's already $10 cheaper than places like advance auto.

This is not my first brand new car that they overfilled. Here's the record:

1. Corolla 2017 - overfilled 4 times
2. Corolla Hybrid 2022 - overfilled 1 time
3. Camry 2023 - overfilled 1 time (so far....)

This is me, 1 person, they overfilled hundred of millions of cars.
Corolla 2017 4.4 quarts
Corolla Hybrid 2022 4.4 quarts
Camry 2023 4.8 quarts

I still think the overfilling is due to the techs just "ballparking" the amount during refill. Makes even more sense they would do that because they're servicing millions of cars, and tech are paid on a hours/service chart.

But hey it's just my guess on why they overfill, I don't know for sure.

Has Wal-Mart been listed under participating retailers in the past? I've always gotten through them.
In my experience, which is many years doing M1 rebates, Walmart has not been listed in participating retailers, but I've always purchased there and always received the rebate. That includes the same rebate last year.

Otoh, Amazon has not been included in M1 rebates. In fact, it has been specifically excluded.

LAME! Every time I try to register it tells me my address is not good. I click the box to confirm that I can receive mail at that address it still won't let me create an account.

"We were unable to verify the address entered with the USPS. Please double-check the address entered. Check here to confirm that you are able to receive USPS mail at this address"

When the engineers develop and test engines you would not believe the extremes they put them through, including over and under filling.

I don't think you get. I repeat, nowadays engines burn oil across the board. Car makers cal it a norm. They don't call it mechanical or design problem.
I don't know about that. We have 3 new cars in our household. If they're burning oil it's not measurable on the dipstick. Also have a 2012 Volvo S60. Burns 1 quart every 750-1,000 miles since about 30,000 miles.
