I wish this supported an expansion chasis but seems like a much better option over spending $300 for a DS220+ to get a portable plex device with hardware transcoding.

I currently have a low end QNAP 4bay and I wish I could justify switching to a Synology NAS instead. The cheap Synology NAS I have at work just works so much faster than the one I have at home. Like just restarting takes 2 min on the Synology vs maybe 10+ min on the QNAP. But I just can't justify what is essentially a side grade.

I saw it in my cart but was never able to check out and now the amazon delivered option is gone. The ETA for delivery was like July 8th. Guess they had really limited stock at that price.

Yeah it's dead. I ordered 2 (one mid-June delivery, the other early July). I wonder if it was a price mistake to the non-plus DS423, which is a very different device with AMD CPU (and damn ugly, IMO).

I think this should be the real price range for the DS423+, however I definitely think it was a price mistake. Someone at Amazon confused it very likely with the non-plus 423.

I just ordered this (to be clear, a 423+) from Amazon, using this link, at $369. Delivers on July 8-12. I can wait. My DS414 just went into end-of-support (ie no further OS updates).
