I get some people like the heads up a week in advance, but then it just gets buried and forgotten once it's actually available.

A week or so is hardly enough time to get my mouse finger ready and strong enough to push "CLAIM" on the very few titles that are worth getting.
Seriously though, why not post 'not yet live' deals in one of the non-FP forums? Then when it goes live, move it here? I think one of the reasons SD became so successfull in the first place was the FP deals, and they were typically REAL deals...unusually good in some way. It was the secret sauce if you will.
People complaining "just don't read it!" are missing the whole point of the FP deals. I get it for some events like Black Friday used to be....where maybe there's a limited number of items, or when people used to actually go to the store to camp out or whatnot, but 98% trash Amazon Games freebies? Come on.
People are already complaining about things showing up on FP that shouldn't be there (more and more, as SD gets greedier and greedier), These KINDS of posts just further dilute the draw of SD, and like sooooo many other websites and app developers, at some point the lesson will be learned (usually too late) that you can't max profit all the time, and not lose the community that made you.

Because people want to know what the sales are going to be. And also, so people don't pay more and buy it before it's free/on sale.
No one is making you people read these.
