I have two dual monitor desk mounts that I bought like two years ago that I haven't even opened. Not gonna buy this one, even though it's a different style...

The difference with laptop mount in this deal is it's off the desk to gain more usable and open desktop space.
You could essentially use this as a dual monitor mount. The downside is that the monitors would be at different heights preventing a panoramic view, but if you don't mind this or use one monitor in vertical orientation, this is basically a cheap dual mount bracket.

I have a laptop that I use infrequently, but not so infrequently that I can put it away in a closet.
Since the arms motions are adjustable, I set it up so that I can "swing" the laptop close to me when I need to use it or push it away from me/my desk when finished with it. Of course, YMMV.
