Just bought a shark stratos upright vacuum from shark website for $300 plus tax . It's getting delivered tomorrow , should I return that and get this instead ?

It is not powered lift away. You will still be able to do non-powered liftaway. So you can use the floor brush head on the wand without the canister attached but the rollers will not spin.

Currently only the two highest end shark models have powered lift away.

Depends. This doesn't have powered lift away and the motor isn't as strong. And no air freshener. If you have stairs or a cat, I would keep the stratos. The powered lift away is great for stairs. You can attach the floor brush head directly to the handle without the aluminum wand tube and carry the canister. The air freshener is great for kitty litter smell
